Another work around I found was using "Mightydocs" free & uploading the pdf to google docs. It is slow if there are a lot of graphics, but it allows viewing pdfs with pictures & everything. I use the program 'DiskAid' to copy files to/from the iPhone. It's easy to use and it detects iPhone the moment you plug it in. One more thing.
