Anti-Abortion Nurse Sued for Removing Birth Control Device

IUDs are long-term birth control devices lasting 5-12 years. They are placed in the uterus by health professionals. A woman went to Presbyterian Health Services Rio Rancho Family Health Center to have her IUD’s strings shortened. Instead, a nurse named Sylvia Olona pulled out her IUD and lectured her about her contraceptive measures.
