Bone Of Largest Eagle That Ever Lived Found
The bones of a Haast’s eagle, the largest eagle that ever lived and a killer of moa, have been found at the Wairau Bar in Marlborough. Canterbury Museum’s Paul Scofield unearthed the bones during an archaeological dig aimed at returning ancient Maori bones to their original graves.
