Animal rescue organizations say the number of neglected horses is skyrocketing in southeast Michigan, which has a large horse population, and that rescue groups are are overrun. Barbara Baker, who runs Horses’ Haven, said she is getting up to 50 calls a day from people looking for a place for a horse they can no longer keep.
