Plastic bag ban clears hurdle

Calgary city council moved closer to a plastic bag ban Monday, moving to debate ways to reduce the use of the item. San Francisco has banned plastic bags for more than a year, and Toronto will implement a 5-cent-per-bag fee later this year.
