Google, with its billions in annual revenue and its constant noise about open standards and free access to information, is hard to ignore when it crashes into an unsuspecting industry. As cell phone companies, publishers, advertisers and software makers have all seen over the years.

As sticky as the issue is, there is an answer, as self titled “open source strategic consultant Bruce Perens explains. The proper procedure entails fully understanding what type of open source software you’re using, and knowing why you need to combine these disparate licenses. I believe that cell phones will quickly outpace the dedicated e-book readers, including the Kindle, as the platform of choice for e-book readers. Leading the pack? The iPhone, ironically.
