Worried about someone taking pictures of you surreptitiously? A new bill would require all cell phone cameras to make that shutter-click noise so you’ll be warned when there’s a peeping tom in the locker room with you.

Chief executive’s descrition of internet telephony group as great standalone business fires speculation. Speculation is mounting that eBay, the internet auction website, is preparing to sell Skype, its internet telephone company.

An anonymous reader writes “A new bill is being introduced called the Camera Phone Predator Alert Act, which would require any mobile phone containing a digital camera to sound a tone whenever a photograph is taken with the phone’s camera. It would also prohibit such a phone from being equipped with a means of disabling or silencing the tone.”

You wouldn’t have to if you lived in Japan, where people have been using it for the last five years to pay for everything from train tickets to groceries to candy in vending machines.
